First, I would like to apologize for the lack of update on this group. But I'm back with exciting news. Nintendo's E3 conference concluded June, 7th leaving their crowd on the edge of their seats.

.: Nintendo releases official date for Skyward Sword:.

Nintendo opened their conference with a lovely video of Zelda's epic past, celebrating the series 25th Anniversary with a full and live Orchestrated accompaniment. It was a great way for Nintendo to kick off their show. The final seconds of the clip revealed some new Skyward Sword footage which can be seen in the link below:

The official release date for Skyward Sword was happily announced to be coming out this Holiday season.

.: Nintendo broadcasts their new console at E3 2011 called, Wii U :.

Nintendo did an outstanding job by showing off all of their in-development 3DS games like; Mario Kart, Kid Icarus, Luigi's Mansion 2, Mario, Star Fox and Ocarina of Time which has been finished and is coming to stores June 19th in the US. Everyone was pleased, but what they were really in for, was the new console. They introduced the console with a video demonstration which can be seen in the link below:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=4e3qaP…

Now, if you watched the video that is now above, you should have seen a little Zelda treat in there at the end. Before any of you get too excited, I am sad to say that sneak peak was just an example to show off the Wii U's 1080p graphics. It is said that it is not another new Zelda title. If you look closely, the graphics and art style are very similar to Twilight Princess's; and obviously the boss fight with Armogohma should have looked familiar if you ever played the game. Nintendo more than likely improved the graphics of that short snippet Twilight Princess boss fight just to show their audience how great the Wii U looks. But hey, you never know, they could secretly be working on a Zelda game for the Wii U as we speak, then again, we do not know.

.: What is the price of the Wii U? :.

The price is said to be around $250- 400 dollars. However, if Nintendo wants success, they're going have to make the price reasonable, considering that they're trying to sell to you the 3DS as well.

.: Where can I watch Nintendo's 2011 E3 conference?

If you missed it on television, you can watch the full 70 minutes in the link below:

Be sure to tune into next years though! It always happens in June! For the official date of next year's E3, keep yourself up to date at G4's cite.

-Gamestop's Release date for Skyward Sword: April 1st, 2011-

Most people don’t usually rely on release dates given by stores, but Gamestop has listed April 1st as the release date for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. We often see the 1st, 15th, or 30th as placeholder dates at Gamestop, which is why this Gamestop release date may only be tentative.

It’s not a bad guess overall, considering that Nintendo has said that they are aiming for an early 2011 release date. However, April 1st ends up being a Friday, which is not a common day that Nintendo would  use to release a game in the states. Lately, Nintendo’s favorite day to release Zelda titles in the United States appears to be Monday, as Spirit Tracks, Phantom Hourglass, The Minish Cap, Four Swords Adventures, The Wind Waker, Four Swords, Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons were all released on the first day of the work week.

Hopefully, Nintendo will soon announce the actual release date of Skyward Sword, as I’m sure we’re all hoping for an even earlier release!

-Interview with Eiji Aonuma-

Posted earlier today on the website of none other than Official Nintendo Magazine, is a new interview with Eiji Aonuma. These interviews are met with great joy from some and absolute terror from others. Regardless of their personal reaction, the gaming community is all ears. Unfortunately, we didn’t get much new insight into the game from this particular interview, but there are certainly a few highlights.

Firstly, it has been definitively confirmed that the feminine figure in the concept art is not going to be Zelda. Aonuma was keen on not revealing the identity, but he did confirm this singular fact.

Second, in a move that may upset many longtime fans of the series, but may excite others, Aonuma has said that the development team is “re-imagining some of the traditional gameplay elements. ” To elaborate, this basically means that the game will still have the traditional over-world and dungeon themes we are all intimately familiar with, but some integral things (and he never makes it quite clear what these things specifically will be) are to be altered. Oh, and for all you timeline fanatics out there: it has been confirmed that Skyward Sword’s position in the timeline is before Ocarina of Time – though there was no elaboration on this point in the interview.

-The Skyward Sword can seek treasure.-

While he wouldn’t go into specifics, Aonuma dropped the bomb that somehow we can use the Skyward Sword to find treasure. Whether the blade glows brighter and brighter the closer we get, or the personification girl says “cold, colder, warm, warmer! Hot! Dun dun dun dun!” remains to be seen.

-The Princess makes an appearance!-

But she is definitely not the personification of the Master Sword. Aonuma was quick to clarify that. He joked that the series is named after her, so she would have to make an appearance.

-“No comment” on Ganon.-

Rather than simply replying: “How could he be in this game? It takes place prior to his first appearance in Ocarina of Time.” Mr. Aonuma would only say that he had no comment on whether or not Ganon would be in Skyward Sword. We will just have to wait and see. . .

Here's a link to what the Hyrule looks like in SS--->: www.zeldauniverse.net/wp-conte…

"One of the most intriguing things that we forgot to mention in our previous article on the Nintendo Power interview with Mr. Aonuma was the demo area seen in the E3 trailer. Many people (including Craig Harris of IGN fame) assumed that this area seen in the demo was simply a demo area constructed solely for the demo–a sandbox–and would not feature within the final game
. Not so, according to Eiji Aonuma. This is actually one of the first bits of Hyrule that Link travels down to from Skyloft:

“It represents a very early stage where Link, for the first time, travels down to the realm below the clouds.”

Mr. Aonuma goes on to explain why, although that area will be in the final game, we shouldn’t take everything we saw in it as finalized:

“That being said, the giant skeleton that you fight when you go inside the tree, and the giant scorpion, aren’t in those locations within the game. We just put them there for the demo version.”

He also clarifies that while this area seems an awful lot like a dungeon, it is still considered a “field”  thereby representing their new take on the dungeon/overworld structure that they have been mentioning in interviews for the better part of a year now.

Also, we should not take the eight item slots (as seen in the demo) as fact. That HUD was built specifically for E3 and there may be more item slots than eight.

And finally, Link has the ability to travel between Hyrule and Skyloft, and this is not done via a Pegasus version of Epona. So what is Link’s method of transportation? Mr. Aonuma would not say, but we’d love to hear what you think! How will Link travel back and forth between Hyrule and Skyloft?"
